This specific feature request has been shifted in priority and is under consideration for the future. In the interim, we've updated the existing Sync Tool.

Carl Levine this is pretty crazy that this request was made more than 4 years ago now, and any progress we thought you were making on it was apparently a lie or it would have been released this year. With this new information I’m sure you will be losing new and current customers because of something relatively simple that other competitors had had for many years now

Carl Levine Thats insane we have been told many times as far back as 2020 and now we get that its been pushed back? This is critical for many of our users that are cloud only.
Carl Levine
Dan Bator:Thank you for your honest feedback. I understand your frustration regarding the delay in Azure AD / Entra support and how vital this feature is for your business.
To better address key customer requests like this, we have made changes to our product management team to improve prioritization and delivery. These changes aim to align our development roadmap more closely with your needs and industry standards.
We regret the delay and appreciate your patience. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to improving your experience.
Andy
Carl Levine the update has no resemblance to the issue that needs fixing. For us its time to move on as you have basically lied for 4 years and left us with no solution for our cloud customers who have no where to put a sync tool!!

Carl Levine Hi, what's with this status? It doesn't match your decision to officially give up on the feature.
Status suggests you need more information, yet did not ask for some.
Just another commitment to a deadline you didn't keep. What you should be doing is removing the deadline promises because it's ridiculous.
Ryan
Carl Levine this isn't even a difficult request either, that's what I don't understand. It's an enterprise app that needs User.Read.All Group.Read.All and GroupMember.Read.All - THAT'S IT! I feel like you guys probably overly complicated it on your end. Trial one of your competitors products if you need to see how easy it can be.

This is a requirement for any of our installations as we have Azure AD customers that do not have a Windows Server. We would be happy to be a beta tester, if required.

developing (live in <90 days)
We've begun development on a direct integration with Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) to sync Groups and Users. We aim to have the feature in beta and available for testing within 90 days.
We'll post an update when we're ready for beta testers for those that are interested.
Arne
Nick Saunders any update on progress?
Nick Saunders
Arne: This feature is still in progress, our development timeline was delayed due to shifting resources to some other priorities. Our current target is beta availability in Q3 later this year. We know it's an important feature, we appreciate your patience!
Andy
Nick Saunders Any update on this now we are in Q3, we have customer literally waiting for this feature
Nick Saunders
Andy We've made less progress on this feature in Q2 than expected due to resources being diverted on other features such as Microsoft Sentinel support for Data Export. Beta release is looking like Q4 at this point.
coronet it2
Nick Saunders it is now Q4, please give us some good news this is in at least beta testing. 8 months ago it was supposed to be in beta by June
Andy
Nick Saunders any update, getting a bit rediculous now
Carl Levine
Andy: Nick is no longer with DNSFilter. This specific feature request has been shifted in priority and is under consideration for the future. In the interim, we've updated the existing Sync Tool.

Closer to 90 days since marked as <60 days. Where are you guys with this one?

Many of our clients do not have servers to run this on as we move to a more serverless environment, with Entra handling all the identity management, and Intune for the devices. Needing to install a sync agent makes no sense in today's day and age
Matt
Cmon y'all...
Arne
Needing a windows instance to run the sync tool for for clients that have gone all in on O365 is very last decade...
Andy
Having to run the tool on PC because we are full cloud and dont have any infrastructure to run it defeats the point. AzureAD needs to be in connection with DNS Filter directly. Needed urgently!
Christopher
It feels like having an AD sync tool, installed on a on-prem server so it can sync with Azure AD, defeats the purpose of using Azure AD in the first place.
