Since it's 2026 it would be nice to manage the macOS DNSFilter agent in a more dynamic, modern method using MDM (XML/JSON) profiles rather than flat UNIX-style text files. There should be a way for the RC agnate to check a MDM file like '/Library/Managed Preferences/com.dnsfilter.agent.macos.plist' before checking '/Library/Application Support/DNSFilter Agent/daemon.conf'

I would like the ability to have a configuration file similar to Windows Roaming Client that allows ability to: Change preferred IP for DNSFilter Ability to utilize DNSSEC Ability to utilize DoT Ability to exclude certain SSIDs (i.e., when connecting to a certain network that is running the relay server)

Windows OS can set a custom or friendly hostname during the install process. Can we look at adding this functionality to the Mac OS Installer as well?

As an admin, I would like the ability to stop users from uninstalling the DNSFilter macOS RC. This would be for users who have admin accounts on the computer.

Hide tray icon on Macs after silent install by default

What we would love to see is the ability to send the Site Secret Key and other optional values directly with the MDM Profile to the Mac the same way we do it with iPadOS and iOS (see screenshot). Like this we could skip the Deployment script and just push the package to the Mac the same way we normally distribute software. It would also be very convenient for the scoping of different sites. Then we could use the same install policy for all Macs and would just have to create different MDM Profiles for different device groups.

Include provision for defining tags in the config file that can be provided during MacOS silent install.

They disabled the quit icon and only put close tray icon If I need to have my users test DNSFilter I need them to do it on command line. Having to quit in the Gui is a lot easier to tell someone who is not technical
